Honorary Members

Honorary membership in the European Society of Pathology (ESP) is an esteemed accolade conferred upon individuals who have made exceptional and lasting contributions to the field of pathology. Nominations for honorary membership may be put forward by any society member, either directly or through an officer or Council member. Once the nomination is reviewed and approved by the Council, the candidate is presented for election by the General Assembly, where they are elected by a simple majority vote.

Honorary members enjoy a range of privileges, including exemption from both membership dues and registration fees for the society’s annual congresses. In recognition of their distinguished status, honorary members also receive the society’s official journals and publications. This honor underscores the ESP’s appreciation for their outstanding achievements and commitment to advancing the discipline of pathology.
