ESP Masterclass on Prostate and Renal Cancer

Eligibility criteria for participation:
- To be an ESP member with active membership for 2025 and/or 2026
- To be a board-certified pathologist (i.e. to have completed residency)
- To be currently practicing GU Pathology and to have experience of at least 5 years on this field
- Consent to presenting a case on-site
Learning Objectives:
The Masterclass will provide advanced training on kidney and prostate cancers. The course includes lectures and case presentations by the participants themselves. Participants will learn how to approach diagnosing difficult renal and prostate cancers via morphology and molecular pathology.
A key part of the Masterclass are case presentations.
Kindly note that case presentation is mandatory and if not in agreement the registration will not be taken into consideration. Participants are expected to present a previously unknown case to them to the group. Cases will be provided to them a few days before the course. The presentations will be done at an encouraging way, with the goal to guide participants on how to tackle difficult and/or rare cases.
Target Audience:
This is a course designed for board-certified pathologists who have established experience in diagnostic GU pathology.

Case Submissions
A key part of the Masterclass are case presentations. Participants are expected to present a previously unknown case to them to the group. Cases will be provided to them a few days before the course. The presentations will be done at an encouraging way, with the goal to guide participants for how to tackle difficult and/or rare cases.
The case presentation process will be supervised by Dr Christos Poulios, ESP Education Manager, who is available to answer any questions regarding the Masterclass at c.poulios@esp-pathology.org.
After successful registration, each participant is strongly encouraged to submit 2 cases relevant to the subject of the Masterclass. Preferably, the cases are to be provided as whole scanned images (WSIs). In case a scanner is not available, please provide a PowerPoint presentation.
After review from the Faculty, the submitted cases will be distributed to the participants. Each participant will receive a case from another participant, without revealing the diagnosis, and will present the case during one of the case presentation sessions.
The timetable for case presentations will be communicated in due time to confirmed participants.
The case submission process will be supervised by Dr Christos Poulios, ESP Education Manager, who is available to answer any questions regarding the Masterclass at c.poulios@esp-pathology.org.
CME Accreditation and Certificates
An application will be made to the UEMS EACCME® for CME accreditation of this event.
More information will be made available in due course.
Certificates of Attendance will be issued within a fortnight after the event has taken place.

Terms and Conditions for attendance in ESP educational events
The registration for educational events organised by the European Society of Pathology (ESP) and the respective confirmation forms a contract between the course attendee and the ESP regarding attendance at the event. This contract is based on the following General Terms and Conditions.
Registration Fees for ESP Educational Events
Attendance at the ESP educational events, e.g. EScoP/ESP Courses, ESP Masterclasses, Workshops, is subject to a registration fee. Registration for the event and booking of services are binding for the attendee. The fees must be paid in advance on the dates specified. Any bank charges will be charged to the payer.
Please note that once you have booked a registration fee, it cannot be changed anymore and is binding. Please double-check your booking before completing your registration.
Usage of Pictures/Videos of Delegates
Upon registration for attendance, delegates grant the ESP the right to use any pictures/videos that are being made on-site at the respective event for publication on the ESP website, as well as on social media. This includes, but is not limited to the following media:
- ESP website
- screens in the Course room
- ESP social media channels (X, Facebook, LinkedIn)
The ESP will only use pictures/videos for internal publications and will not sell pictures/videos on stock photo platforms or else.
If you see a picture of yourself you would rather have deleted, please contact us at admin@esp-pathology.org and it will be taken off immediately.
Programme Changes
The ESP reserves the right to make any necessary changes to the programme at short notice. There will be no pro rata refund of registration fees for changes to the programme.
Cancellation Policy
In case of cancellation, please notify ESP at admin@esp-pathology.org in writing only.
A full refund minus a service charge of EUR 50 will be granted for cancellations up to two weeks before the event. After that no refunds will be granted.
Force Majeure
For reasons beyond its control (such as war, strikes, lockouts, riots or any such civil disturbances, any acts of God, including but not limited to earthquakes, floods, droughts and typhoons, pandemics and any other cause of circumstance of whatsoever nature beyond control) that have an impact on the arrangements, timetables or planning of the Courses and its corresponding activities, ESP has the right to immediately alter or cancel the activities or events or any of the arrangements, timetables, plans or other items relating directly or indirectly thereto. No party involved shall be entitled to any compensation for damages that result from such alteration or cancellation.

Registration Procedure
Interested pathologists with an updated ESP membership will need to register through the below link. Please log in to access the registration link.
All registrations are subject to approval by ESP based on the above-mentioned eligibility criteria.
The deadline for registrations is 14 March 2025.
The number of total available slots is 18. These will be allocated on first come, first served basis. Registrations will halt when the maximum capacity is reached, even before the deadline. A waiting list will then become available.
Registration Fees
For the educational programme only*: 350 Euro
For both the educational programme and the social event (dinner at a restaurant): 400 Euro
There is no option for on-site registrations/payments.
*Registration for the course programme includes access to the course venue, coffee breaks and lunches, access to the online platform with the course material and a personalised certificate of attendance.
