We are pleased to announce the ESP Molecular Pathology Course for Breast Cancer: “Integrating morphological and molecular pathology into breast cancer care: from basic classification to advanced technologies” to take place from 26 to 27 February 2026 in Antwerp, Belgium.

Overall Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this two-day workshop, participants will be able to:
- Understand the fundamental morphological classification of invasive and non-invasive breast cancer, with a focus on special histological types.
- Grasp the principles of intrinsic molecular classification (Luminal A/B, HER2-enriched, Basal-like) based on genomics and IHC proxies, including other relevant classifications.
- Comprehend the practical application of prognostic signatures (Oncotype DX, MammaPrint, Endopredict, Prosigna) in breast cancer management.
- Identify key biomarkers relevant to ER+/HER2- metastatic breast cancer, including resistance mutations and pathway alterations.
- Understand the role and interpretation of immunotherapy biomarkers (PD-L1, MSI, TMB, TNBC-RISK) in breast cancer.
- Recognize the significance of HER2+ predictive signatures in breast cancer.
- Master essential molecular pathology techniques such as IHC, ISH, PCR, NGS, liquid biopsy, and germline testing for BRCA and PALB2.
- Gain insights into emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) in breast pathology and Spatial Transcriptomics with single-cell RNA sequencing, and their potential applications.
- Apply their knowledge through the analysis and discussion of complex breast cancer cases, including lobular carcinoma, phyllodes tumor, metaplastic carcinoma, adenoid cystic carcinoma, NTRK-positive breast cancer, and MSI-high cases, incorporating liquid biopsy strategy in different settings.
Target Audience:
The course is designed primarily for pathologists (board certified or during training) who work on breast pathology. Health Care Professionals, like oncologists, nurses, molecular biologists, medical scientists, etc, are also welcome to register.

Terms and Conditions for attendance in ESP educational events
The registration for educational events organised by the European Society of Pathology (ESP) and the respective confirmation forms a contract between the course attendee and the ESP regarding attendance at the event. This contract is based on the following General Terms and Conditions.
Attendance at the ESP educational events, e.g. EScoP/ESP Courses, ESP Masterclasses, Workshops, is subject to a registration fee. Registration for the event and booking of services are binding for the attendee. The fees must be paid in advance on the dates specified. Any bank charges will be charged to the payer.
Please note that once you have booked a registration fee, it cannot be changed anymore and is binding. Please double-check your booking before completing your registration.
Upon registration for attendance, delegates grant the ESP the right to use any pictures/videos that are being made on-site at the respective event for publication on the ESP website, as well as on social media. This includes, but is not limited to the following media:
- ESP website
- screens in the Course room
- ESP social media channels (X, Facebook, LinkedIn)
The ESP will only use pictures/videos for internal publications and will not sell pictures/videos on stock photo platforms or else.
If you see a picture of yourself you would rather have deleted, please contact us at admin@esp-pathology.org and it will be taken off immediately.
The ESP reserves the right to make any necessary changes to the programme at short notice. There will be no pro rata refund of registration fees for changes to the programme.
In case of cancellation, please notify ESP at admin@esp-pathology.org in writing only.
A full refund minus a service charge of EUR 50 will be granted for cancellations up to two weeks before the event. After that no refunds will be granted.
For reasons beyond its control (such as war, strikes, lockouts, riots or any such civil disturbances, any acts of God, including but not limited to earthquakes, floods, droughts and typhoons, pandemics and any other cause of circumstance of whatsoever nature beyond control) that have an impact on the arrangements, timetables or planning of the Courses and its corresponding activities, ESP has the right to immediately alter or cancel the activities or events or any of the arrangements, timetables, plans or other items relating directly or indirectly thereto. No party involved shall be entitled to any compensation for damages that result from such alteration or cancellation.
