Job Purpose
The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager supports the pathology community and the ESP activities by ensuring consistent quality assurance programs through the development and implementation of sustainable portfolios and systems at national, European, and international levels. The QA Manager is responsible for delivering the QA-related agenda of the ESP, as well as overseeing relevant scientific projects (e.g., harmonisation, validation, and investigational studies).
Additionally, the QA Manager plays a key role in the development of new ESP QA programs and in identifying new opportunities for collaboration with industry partners and leading international QA and scientific organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all projects and processes related to ESP’s quality assurance activities.
- Develop and implement new QA schemes, including pilot studies, validation and harmonisation efforts.
- Identify and pursue collaboration opportunities with industry partners, QA organisations, and scientific bodies.
- Act as the main quality liaison with external stakeholders, including suppliers and partner organisations.
- Manage bidding and procurement processes, ensuring compliance with relevant scientific and regulatory standards.
- Represent ESP at global QA events, conferences, and roundtables to promote ESP’s mission and visibility.
- Prepare and coordinate QA meetings and events organised by ESP.
- Draft and support the preparation of reports, presentations, manuscripts, meeting minutes, and agreements.
- Collaborate with ESP-affiliated national and associated societies, coalitions, federations, clinical associations, and regulatory bodies.
- Work cross-functionally with ESP Scientific and Education Managers, Working Groups, Education Committee, Advisory Board, and all ESP staff to develop strategies for measuring and communicating the impact of ESP QA activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in life sciences, education, or business administration.
- Strong scientific background, ideally in pathology, diagnostics, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in quality assurance operations and management, particularly within the pharmaceutical or diagnostics sectors.
- Solid understanding of QA methodologies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Work experience at an accredited institution with active involvement in the accreditation process is advantageous.
- Strong and persuasive verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce professional correspondence, reports, meeting minutes, and draft agreements.
- Ability to build effective relationships and engage with stakeholders both within ESP and externally.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and self-motivation.
- Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and virtual meeting platforms.
- Strong command of tools to conduct, disseminate, and analyse surveys.
- Willingness to travel and occasionally work evenings or weekends.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.

Job Details
Position Title: Project Associate/Assistant for Education (depending on the level of experience and qualifications of the applicant)
Under the supervision of the ESP Education Manager
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: ESP Headquarters, limited travel requirement for the onsite organisation of courses, workshops, and congresses.
Job Purpose
Assist the ESP Education Manager and ESP Education Committee in the organisation of educational activities of ESP. Contribute to the smooth operation of the ESP HQ Offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the onsite and online organisation of courses, workshops, and other similar ESP activities
- Support the coordination of meetings, both virtual and in person
- Assist the creation and dissemination of meeting material (i.e. agendas, presentations, datasets, minutes etc.)
- Support communication between ESP HQ and providers of educational activities, including tutors, experts, supporting companies, technical staff and other organisations
- Support the management of the ESP website, Educational Platform, and other tools used for ESP Educational Activities
- Support the dissemination of information regarding ESP educational activities via mass emails, social media, banners, infographics, and other means.
- Create presentations within the Job activities
- Generate, disseminate, and analyse surveys for ESP educational activities
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within the scope and the budget
- Interact with the ESP Offices staff and help ensure smooth running of the Offices
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in science or related field. Master or Doctoral degree, especially in Medicine, is an advantage
- Previous scientific experience and/or experience in a similar position is a plus
- Ability to operate in an international and multicultural environment, including delivering presentations
- Punctual
- Well organised
- Fluency in English. Good level of French, Dutch and/or other European languages would be appreciated
- Good computer knowledge (email, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Google Spreadsheets, etc.)

Job Purpose
- The Event Coordinator will assist with the planning and managing of all kinds of event-associated projects (European Congress of Pathology, European School of Pathology “EScoP”, ESP Academy, Masterclass, Advisory Forum, etc.) on behalf of the Society and will ensure they are completed on time, within budget and meet the needs specified.
- To assist in all internal and external projects of the ESP and its Foundation.
- To administer and carry out exhibiting opportunities within the scope of ESP events.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for organizing all aspects of the annual European Congress of
Pathology from an operational and logistical standpoint - Responsible for organizing all aspects of small-size events from an operational and logistical standpoint

- Excellent command of English and at least one additional European language
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 environment; working knowledge of AutoCAD is advantageous

Applications are invited for an Anatomical Pathologist position in the Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program (HRLMP), with an academic appointment in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at McMaster University.
The successful candidate will have subspecialty expertise through a recognized fellowship, or at least five years practice experience in Breast Pathology, including related molecular/biomarker testing and reporting. Additional experience in Gynecological Pathology and Cytopathology is preferred. Strong surgical pathology and frozen section skills are required.
