Digital and Computational Pathology

Tissue based diagnosis (surgical pathology) consists of a set of different information components. The analysis of microscopic images is a primary contributor, contemporarily completed by functional tissue investigations such as immunohistochemistry or reduplication of DNA sequences and gene fragments. These methods require, or can be successfully assisted by, digital tools such as image analysis, biostatistics, communicative standards, and hospital information systems.

The DCP working group focuses on research and the routine application of these tools  provides a platform to present its results, to demonstrate routine applications for better or worse, to discuss future developments, and to organize institutional and industrial information exchange at the annual ESP conferences.
